Amelia Lowe
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Victoria, and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I have experience working as a counsellor in a community mental health setting, and have been running my own private practice since August 2020. I work to support clients to gain a better understanding of their experiences and inherent worth. Together, we address their identified goals and concerns, reflect on and process experiences or situations that may have been traumatic, challenge negative self-beliefs, and foster self-compassion. I strive to recognize intersectional factors that may impact client's experiences, such as culture, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexuality, disability, age, and spirituality. I am passionate about creating safer spaces for people of all communities, bodies, and backgrounds. My focus is working with adults in the areas of anxiety, depression, interpersonal dynamics, grief & loss, career related issues, relationships, self-compassion, perfectionism, and trauma. I am passionate about journeying with and supporting clients as they explore the big questions in life - why do I behave the way I do? Why is this a pattern for me? How do the negative beliefs I have about myself affect my day-to-day life? I offer virtual and in-person services based out of Victoria, BC.
