Ariel Cohen

I am a fellowship-trained pediatric and adolescent gynecologist with board certification in obstetrics and gynecology and I hold a focused-practice designation in pediatric and adolescent gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Gynecologic concerns of young people (birth to age 21) are not uncommon, and may range from irregular menstruation to congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract. My expertise is in medical and surgical care for young people with gynecologic concerns, and I have a special interest/experience in caring gender diverse youth and youth with differences in sex development (also known as intersex). For gender-affirming care, I follow WPATH guidelines closely. I am experienced in puberty blockers and gender-affirming hormone therapy. Surgically, I perform gender-affirming hysterectomies as well. I see patients at the University of Maryland Medical System.
