Brian Taylor
Driven towards the cessation of suffering through self-advocacy and collective action, I've spent over a decade in community-health engaged in service of marginalized folks, the working-class, people living with disability, and the intersections therein. I blend person-centered, psychodynamic therapy with mindful practice to treat anxiety, depression, trauma, gender dysphoria, and even alienation under capitalism. With harm-reduction and strength-building we can engage in a shared space to heal and shape change. Together we strive to cultivate empowerment and forge a path toward contentment, fulfillment, and liberation. An average session may entail mindfulness-based techniques coupled with strategies around acceptance/commitment to address daily strife. Our focus could cover managing stress and avoidance, regulating mood, attention deficit, relationship issues, setting goals, forming habits, or working through old patterns of thought/behavior which no longer serve you. Over time we integrate investigation with open-minded curiosity to appreciate how the systems we participate in impact our lives; we will trace how lived experiences and environmental factors directly inform our present circumstances and future planning. From this vantage we discover novel opportunities and paths toward personal healing and cultivation.
