Cara Banafato

Cara Banafato (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and serves as Director of Behavioral Health for EDGE New Jersey. Cara is passionate about the role of community-driven initiatives in improving efficacy of services and positive health outcomes. As a proud member of the queer community, Cara is committed to advancing equity for LGBTQIA+ individuals and those living with HIV, who often face disproportionate mental health and substance use challenges. Cara has received extensive clinical training in addressing complex trauma, bereavement, and anxiety disorders. She has experience in community-based, outpatient, and residential settings.
