Carrie Wicks
I specialize in supporting adults who are navigating the impacts of complex trauma. Complex trauma can occur as a result of violence in the home, relationships, education & other community environments, workplace, & systemic oppression. I hold an M.Ed. in College Student Development & Counseling from Northeastern University, & an MA in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University. I'm also a licensed Restorative Practices trainer & hold a certificate in depth studies from the C.G. Jung Institute of New England. I take an in-depth, trauma-informed psychodynamic approach to therapy that feels accessible and relational in nature. With an in-depth approach to therapy, I strive to create a safe space for clients as they process difficult emotions, identify patterns, dismantle shame blockages, and repair intrapersonal trust. My approach to therapy works well for those who are seeking a deeper exploration of themselves and the world around them. In our first session together, you can expect me to be compassionate, curious, and highly attentive as I begin to know you at a pace that feels right for you. If you are seeking a therapist who can hold space for the deep complexities of trauma, relationships, and personal growth while prioritizing empathy and understanding, I welcome the opportunity to work with you.
