I believe therapy is a way to care for ourselves, to make a commitment to our well-being, and to learn to use the strengths we already have to improve our lives. When I practice Integrated therapy, I use feminist multicultural (FMT), acceptance and commitment (ACT), solution-focused (SFT), and mindfulness based (MBSR) interventions to assist clients in working through their distress and making positive change in their lives. I am a Queer therapist with training and experience in Queer- and Trans-affirming therapies. Some of my counseling specialties include: Intimate Partner Violence/relationship abuse; Trauma and PTSD; coping with chronic illness, disability, chronic pain, and physical health concerns; Religious trauma & spiritual abuse; concerns around neurodiversity (ASD, ADHD, LD, dyslexia); support and well-being of clients who are mental health providers themselves; and sexual and gender identity development. I work with adults and adolescents (13 years and older), and I have served clients in a non-profit Domestic Violence agency, a VA Medical Center, a hospital, a primary care clinic, and three college counseling centers.
