During your sessions at Innergy, LLC, you will be receiving both techniques to allow maximum healing to occur. Chiropractic Care/SacroOccipital Technique The essence of chiropractic lies in the body’s natural ability to heal itself. When the brain and body are able to communicate well with one another, this natural healing ability is optimized. As a chiropractor, I identify areas of the spine that are restricted and, thus, causing interference to the nerve system’s communication. Specific gentle adjustments to those areas restore movement and reduce nerve interference, helping the body work better. In addition to identifying restrictions in the spinal column, SacroOccipital Technique (SOT) is a specific form of chiropractic care that also addresses the dura that covers the brain, spinal cord and each nerve as they exit the spinal column. SOT helps to restore balance to the muscles of the body. What I find most beneficial about SOT is its comprehensive and adaptable nature. Adjustments are tailored to each person and vary from light pressure over a specific point to a more traditional adjustment. It is also a natural compliment to craniosacral therapy, which addresses the dura (also known as fascia) in a different way. Craniosacral Therapy Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on, therapeutic technique that works to release restrictions and restore normal movement in the body’s fascia. The fascia is a thick connective tissue layer that encompasses every organ, bone and muscle in your body, including the brain, spinal cord and nervous tissue. Normally, the fascia acts as a protective coating around these tissues while allowing the natural movements of the body (flow of cerebrospinal fluid, muscle contraction and relaxation, etc.) to occur beneath it. When the body undergoes physical injury or repeated stress, the fascia can become thickened and “sticky” causing it to adhere to the surrounding tissues. CST in conjunction with SOT serves to restore those natural movements to your body.
