Darryl Mitteldorf
I am an oncology social worker and healthcare activist. I'm known for pioneering the field of LGBT psycho-oncology and for founding two prominent national nonprofits, the national men's cancer patient advocacy organization, Malecare ( https://malecare.org ) and the world's first LGBT cancer patient advocacy organization, the National LGBT Cancer Project ( https://lgbtcancer.org ). I am an NIH-funded investigator, have presented at numerous professional conferences and published peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. I invented two patented medical devices which help thousands of cancer patients, worldwide. Fun fact: I've led over 2,000 support group meetings since 1998 and has recorded over 100 interviews with leading clinicians for Malecare's YouTube channel.
