David Ramirez

I am a pediatric ophthalmologist practicing in Chicago at Lurie Children's Hospital. I specialize in treatment of pediatric eye conditions, including retinopathy of prematurity, nasolacrimal duct (tear duct) obstruction, strabismus/amblyopia (eye crossing, lazy eye), cataracts, and trauma. I have a particular interest in medical education, quality improvement, health disparities, and studying socioeconomic impacts on pediatric eye care. I also see adult patients at Northwestern for general eye complaints. I am a proud, visible member of the LGBTQ+ community and champion equity in all its forms.
