Debbie Duquette
Guiding you back to hope and healing. I schedule 2 hours for the Intake (initial appointment) so I can ask a lot of questions and gather a comprehensive understanding of you and your needs. I focus especially on treating trauma such as childhood abuse or neglect and also on helping people with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (combined type or inattentive or hyperactive/impulsive type) develop coping strategies for managing their symptoms. I'm certified by OutCare Health on their OutList and also listed on the Huntsville, AL area Rocket City Rainbow Pages directory of LGBTQ+ affirming businesses. My office is in Madison, AL and I provide psychotherapy via telehealth (HIPAA-compliant video platform) for people throughout Alabama or Tennessee. My approach utilizes a lot of psychodynamic aspects along with principles of cognitive behavioral therapy. I believe in helping you use your strengths to further develop your potential and address the issues that challenge you. I believe that although we are all individuals and there is no one-size-fits-all approach, there are many things that are universal experiences and unite us and we all have a need for acceptance and belonging. I use a balanced approach that addresses the present without ignoring the past and is not all about telling you what to do, not all about listening without providing any feedback.
