Derek Blevins

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist and addiction psychiatrist with broad experience in the treatment of mental health and substance use issues. I completed my residency in psychiatry at the University of Virginia, where I served as Chief Resident. I completed a combined clinical and research fellowship at Columbia University, where I am currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry. I am a strong proponent of client-centered, evidence-based care. While medications may play a role in treatment, I believe in a multi-modal approach to mental health care that incorporates pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy with physical health and well-being. I believe you will find my approach to be warm, genuine, supportive, and responsive.
