Devin Schmitt

Hello! My name is Devin (he/him) and I am a queer, neurodivergent art therapist and clinician at Green Lotus Creative Healing Center in Berlin, CT. Through my experiences working with intensive outpatient programs, queer support groups, and one on one art therapy, I have honed my ability to understand and address the diverse needs of clients while fostering a safe and supportive space for healing journeys to take place. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, multiculturally inclusive, and body-positive. I have experience working with clients facing adjustment disorders, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Additionally, I hold a special passion for working with the LGBTQIA+ community. My personal therapeutic style centers the healing power of the creative process as well as a well-rounded sense of humor, pulling from therapeutic approaches such as third-wave cognitive behavioral therapy approaches (ACT, DBT), contemporary psychoanalysis, and client-centered therapy.
