I became a therapist because I needed one. I lost my mom when I was 18, and in the years that followed I struggled with anxiety and depression and reached for whatever would take the edge off. When I finally sat down with a therapist, it changed my life. Not because it fixed everything, but because for the first time I had a space to say the things I had never said out loud. As a gay man, I know exactly what that means. I am Devon Davasher, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Financial Social Worker (CFSW), and Master ART Practitioner with 13 years of clinical experience. Affirming care is not something I do. It is something I live. I have a particular passion for working with queer and gender-diverse clients, people questioning their identity, and family members learning to support a loved one coming out. I also work with veterans, older adults, and anyone who has felt they had to carry parts of themselves quietly for too long. My primary specialty is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidence-based approach developed by an EMDR-trained therapist that processes trauma without requiring you to relive every painful detail.
