Elizabeth Mellin
Many LGBTQ+ adults are looking for therapy that goes beyond “affirming,” a space where they do not have to explain or educate someone about their identities or experiences before the work can begin. I provide specialized, insurance-accessible therapy for LGBTQ+ adults through a grounded, relational, and empowering approach. Clients come to therapy for many reasons, including coming out, relationships, trauma, anxiety and depression, gender exploration, chronic illness, grief and loss, and life transitions. Each person brings a perspective entirely their own, and I meet every client with curiosity rather than assumptions. As a lesbian therapist, I understand the unique challenges our community can face. I offer trauma-informed, relational therapy that meets your nervous system where it is, supporting greater awareness, self-compassion, and connectedness. I have advanced post-doctoral training in trauma, chronic illness, grief and loss, mindfulness, and sex therapy. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if past experiences have left you feeling unseen, misunderstood, or emotionally alone. In this space, you do not need to have the right words or a clear starting point. If this sounds like the kind of therapy you have been looking for, you are welcome to reach out or schedule a consultation.
