Ellie Fisher
Ellie (they/them) brings a calming warmth to the therapeutic space that helps put their clients at ease. They foster a safe environment without judgment where people can feel free to be themselves. Therapy can feel intimidating or heavy at times, and Ellie is skilled in finding the balance between allowing space to process and feel difficult emotions while also using humor and identifying strengths clients may not have known they have. With this balance, Ellie has the ability to create lightness to help cope with life’s stressors and darker moments. Ellie received their Bachelor’s degree in Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and their Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lakeland University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They are a member of the International OCD Foundation’s Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Action Council where they ensure that diverse, marginalized, and/or underrepresented populations are included in the OCD community at large. Ellie is also passionate about providing affirming mental healthcare to the LGBTQIA+ community. Ellie has extensive training in evidence-based treatments for a variety of mental health concerns including obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, anxiety disorders (social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, specific phobias, and agoraphobia), post-traumatic stress disorder, and depression. They worked at Rogers Behavioral Health in Wisconsin for the past seven years providing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to adults, children, and adolescents across residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Ellie specializes in utilizing exposure and response prevention (ERP) in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder. They are also highly trained in using prolonged exposure for PTSD, behavioral activation for depression, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and cognitive restructuring.
