Emily Wharton
I provide group, individual, and couples therapy for folks struggling with anxiety, OCD, and PTSD/trauma. I use an Emotionally Focused Therapy approach with couples and families. For individuals and groups, I use a client-centered, individualized approach that can include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and trauma-focused treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy or Prolonged Exposure. I deeply believe that healing from trauma requires relational safety within the therapist-client relationship and prioritize the therapeutic alliance above any specific intervention. I work with race-based and sexual or gender identity-based trauma and believe that the client is the expert on what trauma recovery looks like for them.
