Grant Sparks
Using my knowledge of psychology and my life experience of being a huge nerd, it is my dream to bring healing and care to an often-misunderstood population. One of the greatest aspects of being a geek is the intersectionality inherent in the community! I work with geeks, nerds, dorks, and dweebs, LGBTQIA folx, members of the Kink community, ethical non-monogamists, and people of all cultures and spiritualities to uncover the source of your unique struggles. I approach therapy with the ideal that, ultimately, you are the expert in your own life. I like to break things down to the source and find the root causes of problems in your life, be they negative childhood experiences or unexpected life transitions or traumas. I utilize fantasy and dream exploration, narrative and drama therapy, emotionally focused and existential therapies to explore what makes up your inner world and help you find ways to make it easier to exist in the world around you. I want to know how you feel, why you feel that way, and what we can do to make it better. I’m a huge geek, so, I often utilize Geek Culture as a supplementary tool for exploring the more fantastical side of life to help you grasp your dreams. If you are looking for kindness, understanding, thoughtful insight, careful challenging, and a smattering of humorous quips while you work through whatever is keeping you down, I am your person!
