Isaiah Newman

Isaiah Newman (they/them or he/him) joined Out at Home as a clinician this summer, in 2023, following their completion of a master’s degree in social work (MSW) at Boston University. Isaiah is most drawn to trauma-informed and social-justice-oriented forms of therapy, such as narrative therapy, though they also have received training in CBT and Motivational Interviewing. Their background is primarily in working with children, adolescents, and families who have experienced trauma, and they are passionate about conducting family therapy with families of all shapes and structures. They also identify as a poly-affirming and kink-affirming therapist, and use a harm reduction approach when working with clients who are struggling with substance use. Isaiah is white, non-binary, and Jewish, and they also identify as queer. Their hobbies include reading, writing, rock climbing, and playing video games, and they also spend some of their free time engaging in local community organizing.
