Jaime Betancourt
I’m a psychiatric and family nurse practitioner at Union Square Practice (a psychiatry and therapy group in Manhattan). I am a Latino, Queer, cis-male who has an interest in working with members of the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. I am rather warm and collaborative - valuing shared decision making and comfortable addressing some of the concerns and ambivalence that comes with considering a start to medication. While I focus on medication management, my therapeutic approach is humanistic-existential. My office visits are 90 mins for the initial assessment, 45 mins for psychotherapy and 30 mins for medication follow ups. I am an adult generalist but have a few areas of interest including 1) adult sexuality and managing sexual side effects of psychiatric medications 2) providing support and meaning centered psychotherapy to those facing serious or life limiting conditions such as cancer. I provide both in person and virtual services and I am licensed in NY and NJ. Our practice is exclusively OON but we are always happy to provide superbills for reimbursement purposes for patients. I am always happy to schedule a quick call with anyone that would like to hear more about me and how we might collaborate.
