John Fernandez

Aurum Haven Medical is a membership-based internal medicine practice in West Hollywood. Just me, working directly with adult trans and gender-diverse people on hormone therapy and wrap-around internal medicine support. I trained at UK College of Medicine in Kentucky under one of the only GAHT providers for 3.5 million people; first-authored research on the metabolic safety data of gender-affirming hormone therapy for adults; in addition to a rigorous internal medicine residency, I worked with over 200 trans adolescents and their families at Mount Sinai in NYC during that time. Before opening AHM, I helped expand GAHT-competent primary care at UCLA Health and taught gender-inclusive medical practices at UCLA Geffen School of Medicine. This practice grew out of all of that — and out of a belief that there's room to do this work with more time, more continuity, and more intention.
