John Hall
My name is John Hall, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of North Carolina, board certified in Clinical Health Psychology and Hypnosis. From my practice in the Elizabeth neighborhood of Charlotte, I offer psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, clinical video telehealth, and consultation to a limited number of individuals and couples/families. My therapeutic style tends to be direct, blunt, caring, and practical. My professional interests include men's issues (particularly issues common to male survivors of childhood sexual abuse), issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity, medical and disability-related issues (particularly around HIV and chronic pain), death/grief, spirituality and religion in mental health, and ADHD. If you are looking for a therapist to provide a comfortable space and simply ask you how you feel, you will probably dislike my style. Conversely, if the thought of sitting and being asked how you feel for the better part of an hour has kept you from therapy, you might want to give me a try.
