Jordan Gaines
As a queer Black Sex and Relational Therapist, I believe that, regardless of the state of the world, erotic embodiment is not only possible for Black queer and gender-expansive folks, it is necessary. The pursuit of pleasure calls for us to be attuned to our desires, mindful of our needs, and honest about our pain. I believe that cultivating a practice of individual and communal care, intimacy, and radical imagination creates capacity for people to pursue liberation. Therapy with me facilitates space and provides tools to develop that practice. Therapy with me invites you to be curious and vulnerable while safely engaging with the unknown. I collaborate with you to honor your autonomy and encourage the fullness of your humanity. I draw from relational, humanistic, and mindfulness approaches to meet you where you are, while exploring and pursuing where you want to go. My practice values include identity affirmation, relationship cultivation, profound honesty, and radical self-acceptance. I offer therapy services for individuals, romantic partnerships, and members of a village (friends, family, etc). I also provide group therapy services. My work is rooted in queer Black feminist approaches and exists for the purpose of helping Black and queer femmes and gender expansive folks feel good in their bodies and liberated in their lives.
