Jordan Werner
I use a compassionate, sincere, and culturally competent approach with my clients, also utilizing an underlying feminist and integrative approach to therapy. I completed my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in LGBTQIA+ studies at Antioch University Los Angeles. I am intensively trained in Dialectal Behavior Therapy helping clients with Borderline Personality Disorder manage difficult emotions, urges and impulses, and learn new coping mechanisms; as well as LGBTQIA+ affirmative care, specializing in trans affirming therapy. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community I am actively involved in social justice initiatives and view my life and work through a feminist lens. I believe that intergenerational trauma plays a massive part on our mental health issues, at the micro and macro levels. As a child and young adult, I suffered from anxiety which was closely linked to my identity formation. Through my own therapy, I was able to unlearn and continue to unlearn behaviors and beliefs that I had about myself and the world. I want to be able to help support my clients to do the same.
