Julia Wedemeyer, MA, LPC (OH), NCC, CTP, ISTT
I provide affirming, trauma-competent, and responsive counseling for adults and relationships throughout Ohio, specializing in complex and developmental trauma, PTSD/I & C-PTSD/I, attachment and relational injuries, anxiety, depression, grief, dissociation, disability and chronic illness, addiction recovery/SUDs, and major life transitions. I have particular expertise in supporting LGBTQIA2S+/LGBTGEQIAP+ individuals, gender-diverse and expansive people, neurodivergent clients, and others whose identities and experiences have been marginalized or inadequately understood within traditional healthcare systems. I am available to conduct WPATH SOC v8 assessments and, where clinically indicated, provide letters of support for gender-affirming care. I can also complete an assessment for those who need paperwork for an emotional support animal. My practice is also affirming of consensual non monogamy/polyamory, kink/leather/BDSM communities, and sex workers. My integrative approach draws from EMDR/Somatic EMDR, parts-work and Internal Family Systems–informed practices, applied polyvagal theory, attachment-based therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other body-based and relational approaches. Together, we focus not only on reducing symptoms, but also on strengthening nervous-system capacity, restoring connection with the body and self, and developing sustainable ways of living that honor each client’s identities, needs, relationships, and lived realities. As a provider living with disabilities who has personally navigated Medicare and Medicaid throughout my life, I understand how difficult it can be to locate accessible, affirming, and high-quality care, particularly when financial limitations, disability, discrimination, and/or systemic barriers restrict available choices. For this reason, InnerVision Resources, LLC includes an embedded Intersectional Mental Health Mutual Aid Program. This program allows me to reserve a portion of my practice for pro bono (free) and reduced-fee sliding-scale counseling for people who face the greatest barriers to care. Availability is limited and determined by current clinical capacity, financial need, and the level of support requested. This is not charity-based care; it is a mutual-aid commitment grounded in dignity, equity, shared humanity, and the belief that financial circumstances should not determine whether someone can access competent and compassionate mental healthcare. I look forward to hearing from you to see if we'd be an appropriate therapeutic fit moving forward! Julia M.
