Justin Waryold
Justin M. Waryold, DNP, RN, ANP-C, ACNP-BC, GS-C. CNE FAANP (he/his/him) is an assistant professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University’s College of Nursing and a clinical director for an internal medicine practice on Long Island providing primary care services. Dr. Waryold serves a large, referred community of LGBTQ+ individuals who seek his evidence-informed yet progressive expertise. His unique clinical practice model of reducing barriers to care is well-known among the LGBTQ+ community. Dr. Waryold is known as a network resource specializing in providing high quality, culturally competent, equitable healthcare. His practice consists of LGBTQ+ individuals and their families providing primary care services, HIV/AIDS treatment/prevention, and gender-affirming hormone therapies in his region. His methodologies, including targeted brief action planning to optimize positive health behaviors, have been replicated at conferences and workshops regionally and nationally. Dr. Waryold’s work continues outside the clinical environment, as he educates his students on how to care for LGBTQ+ individuals, while maintaining respect of the individual and provide clinically-relevant, culturally competent care.
