Kari Harrison
I'm a queer-identified licensed clinical professional counselor with 9+ years of experience in providing individual and relationship counseling using evidence-based support tailored to your needs. I believe that each client has a story to share, stemming from a diverse and unique background - and seeks to hold clients in a safe, nurturing space that is truly their own. My conviction is that it is the relationship between the therapist and the client that is ultimately what heals, and when it works, it is immensely powerful. I am passionate about exploring ways to help clients discover their own resiliency and live more authentically in order to create the mental and emotional space to reach their fullest potential. I have practiced in a variety of settings. I trained at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, specializing in trauma/recovery, and in LGBTQIA+ identities at the Center on Halsted. I have worked with a range of presenting concerns including depression/anxiety, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, trauma, grief/loss, identity development, and phase of life transitions. I am currently pursuing an additional certification in sex therapy through the University of Michigan's Sexual Health Certificate Program and am particularly passionate about providing sex positive, queer/gender affirming, kink/bdsm positive sex therapy and assisting clients in exploration of gender/sexuality and gender/sexuality expansion.
