Kendyl Brown
I strive to create a therapeutic space that is safe, inclusive, and free of judgment—where you or you and your partner(s) can feel seen, heard, and understood at your own pace. My goal is to help you better connect with yourself and with each other, as you move toward living authentically and cultivating healthier relationships. My therapy style is eclectic and flexible; adapting to the unique needs of each person or couple I work with. I integrate a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), LGBTQ+ affirming practices, motivational interviewing, and the Gottman Method Levels 1 and 2 for couples. My work is grounded in the values of the social work profession, centering empowerment and advocacy for those who have been historically marginalized or oppressed. I hold a deep awareness of how systems of discrimination and inequality can affect not just individual healing, but also the dynamics within relationships. Honoring your intersectional identities is central to our work together, whether you’re exploring your sense of self or working to strengthen your partnership. Core values that guide my practice include authenticity, vulnerability, and inclusivity. I know that opening up, either on your own or with a partner, can feel vulnerable and even overwhelming. Many clients have described me as empathetic, culturally sensitive, open-minded, compassionate, and yes, someone who brings warmth and humor into the room when it’s needed most. Whether you’re coming to therapy as an individual or with a partner, I’m here to support you through life’s complexities and help you move toward the life and relationships you truly deserve.
