Hi I'm Kristen. I am a Registered Social Worker, specializing in Grief, Bereavement and Loss, Palliative/End of Life Care and Geriatric Social Work. I believe in providing strength based, person centred, holistic care. Grief is unique to each of us, grief does not follow a timeline, and everyone navigates it differently. I acknowledge that grief can be complex and messy, and it is okay to not be okay. I often tell clients and have heard from clients that grief is the club no one wants to be a member of. Grief is a universal human experience, which we do not choose or want. "Grief is the price we pay for love." For the past 10+ years I have walked alongside residents/patients/clients, and their families in various health care settings including long term care, retirement living, hospital, hospice and community grief and bereavement support. As Rama Dass said it best, "We are all just walking each other home." I welcome you and your grief.
