Kyle McKinley
Hi, I am Kyle (he/him/his) and I am a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have been a mental health nurse for over 20 years and have worked in numerous settings, including academic health care systems, public health clinics, crisis and mobile units, and LGBTQIA+ community health centers. I offer both psychotherapy and medication management. My approach to care is greatly informed by my nursing background and the healing power of an affirming, collaborative relationship. I aim to provide holistic, person-centered care utilizing trauma informed, anti-oppressive, and harm reduction approaches. My style of psychotherapy is largely influenced by psychodynamic and embodied psychotherapy practices. I believe by cultivating present awareness and learning to befriend our nervous system, we can better understand and regulate our internal experiences, allowing us to improve our relationship with ourselves and others. I previously lived and worked in both Boston, MA and Philadelphia, PA before moving to Chicago, IL in 2018. I am graduate of Drexel University, in Philadelphia, PA where I earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree specializing as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I celebrate you for taking this step toward greater self discovery and I am honored to work with you as you embark on this journey!
