Laura Minero

She/Her

My name is Dr. Laura Minero (She/Her/Ella) and I am the founder and sole practitioner for Yolotl Libre. I’m a licensed psychologist, and bilingual, bicultural, queer and gender expansive, Latinx immigrant from Mexico who was undocumented for 26 years in the US. Through my own intersectional experiences, I learned firsthand how exclusion, oppression and trauma can impact our heart, mind, body and spirit. As an 2-SQT/LGBTQ+ Affirming, Anti-Racist, Trauma-Informed, Intersectional, and Liberation Based therapist, I acknowledge that systemic harm, like white supremacy, generational trauma, and the violence and abuse that is perpetuated by oppression can have deep, lasting scars that impact our relationships with ourselves and others. I hope to help you resist this harm by helping you remember and RECLAIM your ancestral wisdom, trust your own intuition, and learn how to comfortably and confidently create more space for you to live your life as liberated as possible. My philosophy is that our own healing and liberation is so immensely powerful that it has the ability to also transform our relationships with others and break cycles of intergenerational trauma. I believe that healing happens in relationship and in community. Hence, I approach therapy as a sacred exchange of energy that can help you learn more deeply about you heart, mind, body and spirit and how they are interconnected. By establishing a trusting relationship, I use our therapeutic relationship to help you identify patterns that may be contributing to current stressors in your life. I believe that each individual is the expert of their own life, so I serve as a gentle guide that helps you identify and OWN your strengths that can aid you in further amplifying your healing.
