Laurel Chace
I am passionate about supporting young adults and adolescents in providing guidance for a variety of issues, such as day-to-day stressors, depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and life transitions. If you find yourself in need of support in any of these concerns, I am here to walk with you in finding solutions and skills to navigate experiences that may be intimidating to walk through alone. My approach to therapy can be described as casual, warm, and engaging with a sprinkle of my own personality and sense of humor. I prioritize supporting clients with accessing validation for themselves that they might allow for others while challenging thoughts that may prevent folks from moving forward. My hope is for sessions to feel like a space to settle in, collaborate, and investigate how to find your peace together. I have over nine years of experience working within the mental health community and have been providing therapy for over six years for young adults and adolescents. I have received extensive training on crisis intervention and deescalation as well as interventions for passive suicidal ideation, superficial self-harm, and struggles with substance abuse. Modalities that I utilize in my work include DBT skills (dialectical behavioral therapy), EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), and relational therapies. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and have called both the East Bay and Marin County home. Passions of mine in addition to therapy include gardening, yoga, thrifting, listening to audiobooks, and crafting (especially during sessions!).
