Luisa Mancera

Hi, my name is Luisa Mancera and I’m a couples and individual therapist. I primarily work with clients who experience anxiety or depression, complex PTSD, or relationship issues. Many of my clients are high achievers whose hard work and intelligence has carried them far. They tend to distract themselves from their feelings and struggle with critical self judgment and wind up feeling exhausted and stuck. Working with me involves learning new ways to cope with stress, bringing compassion to that harsh self-critic, and reconnecting with your feelings so you can get back to actually enjoying your life, your work, and your relationships. I’m particularly passionate about working with those from mixed cultural or ethnic backgrounds as I am bi-cultural myself. I also work with a lot of LGBTQ folks who struggle with self acceptance and confidence. Most of all, I love working with individuals and couples who are highly motivated to learn and grow. My approach is culturally-affirming and trauma-informed. I combine traditional talk therapy with mindfulness and somatic practices to help clients reconnect with their bodies. I’ll give feedback and help you workshop through decisions. I’ll both support and challenge you on your journey. I believe that only when compassion is present will people allow themselves to see the truth. There’s more instability, more inner pressure, and more external demands on us than ever before.
