Madison Bailey

I am a clinical health psychologist within the Behavioral Medicine service at the VA Northern California Healthcare System - Martinez VA Medical Center. I am passionate about integrated mental health care and serving our nations Veterans. I have clinical interests and specialty training in behavioral medicine, health psychology, transplant psychology, management of chronic health conditions, health care equity, health behavior change, primary care psychology, bariatric psychology, LGBTQ+ and gender affirming healthcare, telehealth, and the effects of trauma on physical health. In my current role I provide gender affirming behavioral health services including pre-gender affirming surgical mental health evaluations, letters of support for HRT and other gender affirming medical care, gender and LGBTQ+ affirming individual and group therapy. My approach to patient care is person centered and evidence based. I have received advance training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness interventions, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I am passionate about culturally affirming care, advocacy, and the use of quality improvement and program development to reduce healthcare inequities. At this time I am only able to provide services to Veterans enrolled in care within the VA Northern California Health Care System.
