Mary Margaret Davis
It takes incredible courage to begin exploring the parts of yourself you’ve had to push away or keep hidden. I know that process can feel scary, but I want you to know you don’t have to do it alone. As a trauma therapist, I have a deep passion for helping people navigate big life questions; especially when it comes to identity, self-esteem, sexuality, attachment wounds, or your relationship with substances. My main goal is to help you get to the root of your challenges, so you can truly feel more comfortable and at home in your own body. I identify as a queer and anti-oppressive therapist. I am compassionate, direct, and liberating. I'm not a blank slate therapist; I value incorporating humor and empowerment into our sessions. I utilize evidence-based methods, such as EMDR, Attachment Theory, and Acceptance & Commitment. These tools are designed to help you gain a greater sense of agency, control, and personal power over your own life. Therapy is similar to a garden - you cannot rush flowers to bloom. Our sessions will be built on patience, curiosity, and cultivating a gentle self-compassion that you may not have accessed before. We’ll work together to cultivate the courage needed to express your most authentic self. I believe in you and I look forward to hearing from you. I offer in-person, ecotherapy at the local greenway, and virtual sessions Tuesday-Friday.
