Matthew Westling

I work as a Mental Health Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner in the Veterans Health Administration. I work with patients to manage and optimize psychiatric medications in order to find a regimen that works for them. I also provide comprehensive medication education and referrals to other services such as psychotherapy. I also work with other mental health providers in clinic to provide medication assisted treatment for substance use disorders. My personal approach to mental health treatment is to educate my patients on the evidence for psychiatric medications and other psychiatric treatments, present them with multiple treatment options, and work with them to develop a care plan that fits within their personal goals.
