You shouldn't have to explain yourself just to feel safe in a therapy room. Here, you won't have to. I'm Micah (he/him), an LICSW and therapist in Minnesota, with the ability to see local clients in-person or via telehealth. I see folks in Utah virtually as well, and grateful to still offer care out west. and I work primarily with 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, including transgender and gender diverse individuals, queer and bi people, and those navigating the intersection of identity, trauma, and a world that doesn't always make space for them. Clinically, I bring real depth — gender affirming care across regional and international health systems, support letter authorship, and experience in some of the most high pressure medical environments in the country. I'm most proud of my client's taking the time to learn how to advocate for themselves, in a world that rather they be quiet. This is a space where you don't have to shrink, translate yourself, or brace for impact. My approach is trauma informed, affirming, and genuinely collaborative. I'm not here to pathologize who you are — I'm here to help you understand yourself more fully and move through the world with a little more ease. I see teens and adults, in person and via telehealth. With a background spanning care navigation, specialty medical social work, and direct clinical roles at institutions like Intermountain Health and Mayo Clinic, I've guided people through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives — from surgical gender affirming care to emergency and crisis settings. My roots in LGBTQ+ community advocacy run deeper than my resume though. Long before the license, I was in community spaces, leading statewide public education workshops, sitting on panels, and doing the slow unglamorous work of making gender diverse lives more visible and more livable. The credentials caught up to the commitment — not the other way around.
