Hi! I am a lisenced massage therapist and Amma Therapist. Amma Therapy is a modality of massage based in Chinese Medicine. I use acupressure points (no needling), cupping, gua sha, and massage along the TCM channels to remove energetic and physical blockages. Clients say they feel taller, have more range of motion, freedom of movement, relaxed, revitalized, acuhaze, fortified, and free from pain and more. My private practice is at Awakenings Wellness Center in SE Portland OR and I also take insurance at The Center for Natural Medicine. My practice is informed by my own chronic pain, TBI, neurodiversity and gender journeys, as well as a 3 year apprenticeship like training from a lineage based education. My teachers studied directly with Tina Sohn, who brought Amma Therapy to the USA in the 1970s. I have been practicing since 2017 and do all I can to make my practice a safer space for LGBTQ+, BIPOC, all body types to receive empowering care. I tend to talk about the points and check in often on pressure, environment, focus, encouraging the client to give feedback if changes would make a better experience. I have given 20+ treatments to marginalized folks who couldn't access the care otherwise.
