Noel Gonzalez

Dr. Noel C Gonzalez is a psychotherapist, consultant, Licensed Professional Counselor, and LPC-Supervisor who treats adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families who have a wide range of presenting problems. He received a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Masters and a PhD in psychology with an emphasis on clinical psychology from Fielding Graduate University. Dr. Gonzalez completed a pre-masters internship in marriage and family therapy at Houston Psychotherapy Institute and pre-doctoral practicums at Texas Children's Hospital, Department of Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Eating Disorders Clinic, Michael D DeBakey Veterans Hospital, Texas Medical Center and Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Community Medicine at Northwest Clinic. He completed a pre-doctoral internship at Harris County Juvenile Probation Department, Forensics Department Currently, Dr. Gonzalez holds an appointment on the Medical Staff at Texas Children's Hospital in the Department of Gastroenterology and Nutrition. He has worked in outpatient, school and inpatient settings, and has over eighteen years of clinical experience working with individuals, groups, and couples and family who have a wide range of presenting problems. Prior to starting private practice, he was a psychotherapist at the Methodist Hospital, Weight Management Center, Texas Children's Hospital, Eating Disorders Clinic, and at ADAPT Counseling. In addition to his broad clinical experience, he has particular interests in anxiety disorders, depression, couples therapy, eating disorders, sexual addiction, relationship issues, mood disorders, and LGBTQ+ issues. He also has specialized training, experience and interest in assessment of children and adults, in the treatment of families disrupted by a child's coming out, and treatment of problems related to divorce and other family transitions. He facilitates individual and groups for adults focusing on affirming therapy, and support group for LGBTQ+ individuals focused on personal awareness, and conscious living.
