Omar Troutman
In practice since 2009, I've had the privilege to work with children, adolescents, families, adults, couples, and individuals with disabilities. While I seek to help everyone, I have an extensive background in providing services to the LGBTQQIA+ community as well as a firm foundation in multicultural considerations in counseling, couple dynamics, and family systems. In choosing to work with me, you can expect that I’ll engage you on an existential, cognitive, and/or systemic level with a healthy dose of humor as appropriate. Our relationship would be one of cooperation. We’ll work together to determine ways in which we can affect change in the areas of your life that are most important to your optimal development as an individual, couple or family. We’ll focus on how you, your relationship, and/or your family would like to be. The techniques by which we will achieve this change are unique to every individual/couple/family and will be determined cooperatively with your expressed interests in mind. All of the techniques which I will employ during the course of therapy have been grounded in theory, best practice, and have been shown to be highly effective. It’s my belief that each of us is capable of living our best selves. We just need a little help at times and that’s okay.
