Patrick Muro
My journey to becoming a therapist began with a deep-seated passion for empowering individuals, particularly for those in the LGBTQ+ community. In 2022, I completed a dual Masters in Social Work and Public Health at the University of CT and participated in various speaking opportunities related to LGTBQ+ issues. Since then, I've worked in various professional settings which have cultivated a multifaceted understanding of individuals' needs and challenges. This breadth of experience has reinforced my commitment to taking a holistic approach to mental health care. In my practice, I foster an environment of trust and psychological safety, where clients feel secure to explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. I actively listen and provide gentle guidance to ensure clients feel heard and understood. We work together to develop coping strategies and build resilience so they can navigate through their challenges with confidence and clarity. Throughout treatment, I have ongoing conversations with clients about their progress and goals. This continuous dialogue helps guide the treatment process and ensures that therapy remains aligned with the client's needs and aspirations. When a client has achieved their goals and feels confident in their ability to maintain their progress independently, we will collaboratively decide on the right time for discharge.
