Priscilla Wilson

I am a professor in the counselor education program at Jacksonville State University (Alabama). I am also a licensed professional counselor in Alabama. I work with clients on managing depression or anxiety symptoms. I also work with clients who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, or intersex. I help clients incorporate spirituality into their identity if that is an important part of their life. I also support clients navigating grief and loss, and those who have survived violent partner relationships. Additionally, I provide mental health services to older adults (age 65 and older) and address women's issues across the lifespan. First sessions usually involve intake and assessment to get to know the client’s background and their reason for seeking mental health services. We will establish counseling goals and an effective treatment plan to help us reach those goals. I am supportive and believe love is love. Besides being an instructor and counselor, I enjoy the arts. I play piano, write, and draw/paint. I cycle and like cooking and gardening. These practices are essential to self-love and care in my life. I look forward to hearing from you.
