Rachel Hatfield
I approach therapy with compassion and curiosity. My style of therapy is trauma informed somatic psychotherapy. This is a body-mind oriented therapy. I focus on understanding the connections between nervous system regulation, behavioral urges, thought processes, emotional states, sensations and memories. I believe we experience the world through both body and mind therefore we must include both in the healing process. I integrate techniques from multiple somatic, cognitive, behavioral, relational, systemic, and experiential therapeutic modalities. In our first session we will discuss informed consent, my scope of practice, and practice policies. During the initial session we will explore your goals for counseling and typically complete a diagnostic evaluation to help us develop an individualized treatment plan to address your goals.
