Oak & Ember Counseling is a trauma-informed private practice serving adults navigating trauma, addiction recovery, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, and relational challenges, with a strong commitment to providing affirming, respectful care for LGBTQ+ clients. My approach integrates EMDR, CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, parts-based work, and somatic awareness to support whole-person healing rather than just symptom reduction. During a first visit, clients can expect a structured yet relaxed conversation focused on connection, safety, and clarity—reviewing current concerns, relevant history, goals for therapy, and answering any questions about the process; I do not rush into trauma processing, and if EMDR is appropriate, we begin with stabilization and resource development first. In addition to addiction and EMDR, I provide trauma-focused talk therapy, early recovery support, anxiety and depression treatment, relationship and boundary work, identity development and self-esteem work, psychoeducation on nervous system regulation, and mindfulness-based grounding skills. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions, provide free 15-minute consultations, and offer sliding scale options when available to increase accessibility.
