Sarah Dobro
I am an Internal Medicine trained physician, focusing on gender affirming care, mental health, and chronic pain & fatigue conditions. I completed medical school at NYU and did my Internal Medicine residency at Emory University. I completed UC Irvine's Primary Care Psychiatry fellowship in 2023, and have deepened my understanding of neurodivergence in gender diverse folks with additional trainings by Dr. Ning Zhou. As a genderqueer, pansexual and autistic healthcare provider, I bring lived experience with multiple intersecting marginalized identities to my practice. I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating healthcare systems as someone whose gender exists outside the binary, whose attraction isn't limited by gender, and whose neurodivergence shapes how I experience and move through the world. These identities inform my approach to patient care with deep empathy and cultural competency—I know what it's like to need a provider who respects pronouns and gender expression without question, who creates inclusive spaces for conversations about sexuality and relationships, and who understands that neurodivergent patients may have different communication styles, sensory needs, or ways of processing medical information. My goal is to provide affirming, knowledgeable care where patients can show up as their whole, authentic selves.
