In our sessions, I start with the belief that all of your feelings and experiences matter, and together we will explore how these can create lasting effects in your day-to-day life. Seeing how your feelings and experiences shape you and how you move through the world can be both freeing and difficult--especially when navigating traumatic experiences. In sessions with me, your unique viewpoints and experiences will be the guide as I offer tools or suggestions to support you in achieving your wellness, hopes, and goals. During our work, my suggestions are just that: suggestions that you can determine whether you want to try. Some therapeutic strategies I draw from are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Systems Theory, Narrative Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing. Our society pressures us to seek power and control over our life rather than being in relationship and balance with it. My role and goal is to support you in using new tools to manage daily challenges and long-term, deep healing strategies. Let’s explore avenues for you to experience yourself, life, and relationships boldly. I offer affirming services using the tools and education I have gained along my own journey and through my unique experiences. I continue to evolve my values of abolition (1) and anarchy (2) believing we all have a responsibility to get rid of the systems that harm us and to build socially just, sustainable futures for everyone. My abolitionist social work background guides my values of supporting people in their environment and relationship(s) to that environment. I value being effective rather than being right and will bring this to my therapeutic work with you. I am excited about supporting folks in Queer and Trans communities with a focus on trans and gender diverse folks. My interests are with folks who may have experienced (or are experiencing): prolonged poverty in their youth, trauma in their youth, homelessness/housing instability, substance use, and neurodivergence. I also have a focus on pleasure-based and gender-affirming sexuality exploration. These are my areas of interest, but I am deeply passionate about learning and will do the work to learn about experiences I am unfamiliar with to best support you. I am honored to be a part of this journey with you. Currently, I am a graduate-level student completing a dual degree in Social Work (Clinical Mental Health) and Public Health (Community Health Promotion) at the University of Minnesota. I am also a research assistant at the National Center for Gender Spectrum Health supporting various community-based research projects. My undergraduate work explored systemic barriers to accessing gender affirming care in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Over the last 10 years, I have provided case management and drop-in crises services with people experiencing homelessness, living with HIV, and/or experiencing emotional health concerns in the Twin Cities.
